The Story

According to the UN, spirulina is considered to be the food of the immediate future. The mixture of minerals, B vitamins and omega 3 contained in it is an optimal support for daily nutritional requirements and particularly a climate-friendly diet based on low meat consumption.

Since 2017 SPIRULIX has been producing innovative spirulina products in Austria. To ensure that as many people as possible have access to future food, SPIRULIX offers a variant of different products: ranging from crackers over chocolate to supplements. All SPIRULIX products are completely vegan & natural, free of additives and meet the highest quality standards.

Everything is produced in Austria. Even spirulina, a microalgae mostly common in Asia, is cultivated in greenhouses on the company's own algae farm in Reidling, Lower Austria. Here spirulina can grow in a climate-friendly way as SPIRULIX’ focus is deliberately placed on sustainability because dealing with nutrition of the future does also mean to rethink production.

Success Factor | Hero Moment

To establish a self-funded, high-functioning and sustainable algae production within Austria that does not waste resources thanks to the concept of circular economy, is the biggest success factor. SPIRULIX managed to create a company, which not only avoids CO2 emissions, but also provides health benefits with their products.
