The Story

Cretanaenaon mission is to protect and preserve ancient monumental olive trees and support olive growers and tree owners with their work. These ancient olive trees are up to 4000 years old. They grow cuttings from the gene pool of the old olive trees and use them for reforestation. This way, rare olive varieties are preserved and reproduced. Cretanaenaon tries to create awareness about vibrating machines and suction machines that are used during the olive harvest. The vibrations cause soil compaction preventing the rainwater from seeping into the ground quickly and as a result flooding occurs. The suction machines also pose a threat to birds and insects. By gaining prominent tree sponsors, they try to generate attention for these problems and support for their work.

Success Factor | Hero Moment

By growing cuttings from the gene pool of the old trees, they are able to achive that today's young olive trees will not only live for 50-60 years, but will live for several thousand years and thus be preserved for several generations.
