The Story
Photovoltaics is the most promising candidate of renewable electricity production on the roadmap towards the energy transition. State-of-the-art systems have sizes of 5kWpeak and above and are therefore only for family homes and industrial buildings.
SolMate follows the goal of providing photovoltaic systems, that can be installed at any household by anyone. No constructions - no bureaucracy! Everyone who is able to install a TV or a washing machine is able to install SolMate, the photovoltaic system for the balcony. With SolMate, everyone will be able to produce and use their own electricity. It´s the first solar storage for the power socket. Just set it up on the balcony, plug it into a power socket and provide your own renewable electricity for your household.
Success Factor | Hero Moment
One of the highlights was the start of delivery. At the beginning of 2020, they started shipping SolMate to the kickstarter supporter and got great feedback from the SolMate community.
